Quantum scientist (software & theory)
Job description
- Exploration, design, development, and research of short-term, medium-term and long-term applications of optical quantum computer hardware. Examples of applications include the following (target applications are not limited to these).
- quantum machine learning
- QAOA
- optimization problems
- quantum communication
- optical communication
- quantum chemistry
- FTQC
- Research on the architecture of optical quantum computers
- Implementation of quantum algorithms using actual optical quantum computer equipment developed by our company and exploration of ways to improve implementation efficiency
- Research and development activities will be carried out in small teams.
Eligibility
Required Skills and Requirements
- Graduated or expected to complete a master's program or higher in majors related to the Faculty of Engineering or the Faculty of Science.
- Basic knowledge about quantum computers, quantum information theory, and quantum algorithms
- Basic programming skills, numerical computation and simulation skills
- Ability to read and understand academic papers.
- Ability to write academic papers.
- Ability to communicate in various situations, such as companies and research institutes
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge about continuous quantum computers
- Knowledge/research experience/implementation experience related to continuous quantum algorithms
- Knowledge and implementation experience with classical machine learning and neural networks
- Research experience using an actual quantum computer
- Knowledge about optical quantum computers
- Research and development experience in a team
- Experience of collaboration and joint research with experimentalists

Compensation
- Annual income from 10 million yen (determined according to experience and skills)
