Job description

  • Development, design, construction, and research of optical quantum computer hardware
  • Research and development elements span various levels, from basic research to improvement of individual elements, overall system design, frontend and backend programs for control, construction of actual optical quantum computers, etc. Specific details are determined based on candidate skills and interviews. Examples of activities are as follows
    • Optical design and mechanical design of optical quantum computers
    • Design of an optical quantum computer control system and design of related electronic circuits/analog circuits/FPGA
    • Development of software to control optical quantum computers
    • Development of new technology to improve the performance of optical quantum states and quantum entanglement
    • Building an optical quantum computer
    • Basic research and experiments on optical quantum computers and quantum optics
  • Development of new devices and improvement of existing devices for optical quantum computers in cooperation with external companies
  • Research activities will be carried out in a small teams.

Eligibility

Required Skills and Requirements
  • Graduated or expected to complete a master's program or higher in majors related to the Faculty of Engineering or the Faculty of Science.
  • Basic knowledge about quantum computers
  • Any of the following knowledge (or potential to acquire the following knowledge after joining the company)
    • quantum optics
    • optics
    • circuit science
  • basic programming skills
  • Ability to read and understand academic papers.
  • Ability to communicate in various situations, such as companies and research institutes
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge and experimental experience with continuous quantum computers
  • Knowledge and experimental experience with optical quantum computers
  • Knowledge and experimental experience on cryostats and superconductivity detectors
  • Research and development experience with a small number of people and teams
  • Academic writing experience and peer-reviewed paper
  • Knowledge and experience with feedback control such as control theory
  • Experience with electronic circuits/analog circuits/FPGAs
  • Designing optical systems using lenses and mirrors

Form of work

Compensation

  • Annual income from 10 million yen (determined according to experience and skills)
